Selangor UMNO gets RM2.7b Federal fund meant for state

Dec 27: PAS's Shah Alam member of parliament cried foul over RM2.71 billion of taxpayers’ money being channeled to UMNO and BN warlords in Selangor, saying it was a blatant abuse of power.

Khalid Samad said prime minister Najib Razak, who heads the state's UMNO liaison, gave party machinery in the state the biggest chunk of allocation compared to other states.

“The allocation under the Prime Minister’s Department is then channelled to Federal development departments which will be then transferred to UMNO division chiefs.
"We are aware that such big allocation to these UMNO division heads is aimed at ensuring UMNO-BN's wresting Selangor from Pakatan Rakyat,” Khalid was quoted by Selangorkini.
In a bid to intensify its campaign to win back the country's most developed state, BN is organising a four-day carnival beginning tomorrow at I-City Shah Alam. The carnival, themed "Love Selangor, Have Faith in BN", will be graced by Najib.
'Money for more chaos'
Khalid (right) lamented the absence of any laws to allow anyone to challenge such misuse of Federal allocations.

“Because it is an allocation given to the prime minister to do whatever he thinks needed to be done,” he added.

Khalid, who is also PAS central committee member, said now that Selangor UMNO had enough funds, "I am quite confident that UMNO-BN will be staging many more demonstrations and creating chaos in Selangor".

Reminding the just-concluded graft trial of former Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamad Khir Toyo and the scandal-plagues National Feedlot Corporation involving Wanita UMNO's Shahrizat Jalil, Khalid urged Selangorians to again reject BN in the next polls.

“UMNO is all about corruption, bribery, threats, cronyism and abuse of funds. The culture is in their flesh and blood," remarked Khalid.
