Mystery buses: PAS Youth ups the ante

Harakahdaily
Oct 19: Following contradictory accounts from Sepang police chief Imran Abdul Rahman and Home minister Hishamuddin Hussein over the revelation that 240 foreigners, suspected to be 'instant citizens',  had been brought to a Putrajaya resort, PAS Youth urged prime minister Najib Razak to form an independent panel to investigate the incident.

“The Home minister claimed that he did not know why the 240 foreigners were there in the resort, when the Sepang Police chief said he knew. This is a clear signal that the Home minister is seen to be protecting certain parties in the issue of giving MyKads to foreigners,” said exco Suhaizan Kaiat, who also heads the wing's Democracy Restoration and Mobilisation bureau.
Suhaizan said Imran’s claim that the foreigners, mainly Indonesians were attending a business course at the resort had also contradicted eye witness accounts.

“Among the evidences is that there was no business course during the five hour duration (when the foreigners were there) at the resort. In fact, they were just mingling around the resort,” said Suhaizan.

He added it was illogical to attend such a short business course after travelling hundreds of kilometres from Johor Baharu to Putrajaya.

He also questioned the need for a business course to foreigners when they were not allowed to carry out business activities in the country.

"As such, the police are also seen to be protecting certain parties in this incident,” he said.

Suhaizan rapped Hishamuddin for pushing the matter to the recently established parliamentary special committee (PSC) on electoral reforms.

“The PSC is tasked to improve the electoral system, not address the issue of awarding citizenship to foreigners which is the job of the National Registration Department (NRD),” he stressed.
