KUALA LUMPUR: The Auditor-General's Report 2010 will be tabled in Parliament on Monday, said Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang.
He will brief Public Accounts Committee (PAC) members on the report on the same day.
In a statement Friday, Ambrin said the Treasury's response to the report would also be tabled together.
"In 2010, the Auditor-General's Report was not tabled on the same day as the national budget so as to enable both to get equal coverage.
"It has been the practice since 1982 that the Auditor-General's report would first be submitted to the Cabinet before being tabled in the Dewan Rakyat.
"It is to familiarise the Cabinet with the issues that would be raised so that the government could provide explanation when needed," he said.
Ambrin said the Auditor-General's reports for the states would be submitted to the respective state executive councils before being tabled in their state assemblies.
"The National Audit department also wants to stress here that no amendments have been made to either the national or state reports," he said.
Certain opposition members of parliament had recently questioned why the Auditor-General's report for 2010 was not tabled during the tabling of the 2012 national budget. BERNAMA
