KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s message to the nation tomorrow night in conjunction with National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations on Friday is expected to contain several important announcements, Bernama Online reported today.
The portal quoted Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim as saying the prime minister’s speech would be carried live by TV1 and TV2 at 8.45pm tomorrow and that other television stations had been approached to follow suit.
It is understood that the prime minister (picture) will deliver his address at Auditorium Perdana in Angkasapuri in front of an 800-strong audience comprising Cabinet ministers, senior government officers, members of Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties and NGOs.
Dr Rais hinted that the announcements would be related to major changes deemed crucial for the government and the country.
He also said that reactions from leading political figures, including those from Sabah and Sarawak, would be broadcast live after the prime minister’s address.
