Horses' Mouths - September 30

'Undilah' clip
The video clip also contains subliminal messages aimed at influencing the audience. It also may offend to certain groups.
Rais Yatim, Information, Communications and Culture minister, on the “Undilah” public broadcast video urging Malaysians to vote

‘New’ ISA
The new laws replacing the Internal Security Act (ISA) will not compromise on security and public order.
Hishamuddin Hussein, Home minister

Guan Eng and Johor

If I had made the statement, let's look at the context in which it was made... it was a private conversation.
Lim Guan Eng, Penang CM, on a statement denigrating Johor for its crime rate during a recent working visit to Singapore

This is utterly irresponsible. Although he was overzealous in promoting his state, he can say good things about it but no need to say bad things about others. Even though both states are led by the opposition, the people there are still Malaysian citizens. That is not how the BN administer states.
No BN (Barisan Nasional) menteri besar had ever said 'don't go to Penang or Selangor' as the people working there come from various states. In Johor, such as in Pasir Gudang, we have people coming from Penang.
Muhyiddin Yassin, deputy PM
Perkasa vs Mat Sabu

I'm ambivalent (about the warning). In fact, (Perkasa is) the one that is more anxious. I've already been charged, so let's just wait for the court to make its decision. (But) if I get invited to speak at events, I will.
Mohamad Sabu, dismissing threats by UMNO's Perkasa to protest against him

No cabinet post
The CC (central committee) has already endorsed the stand. Now we want the delegates to endorse it.
Kong Cho Ha, MCA secretary general, on its president Chua Soi Lek’s stand not to take up government appointments should the party fare badly in the next general election

MTUC’s picket

At this stage, the picket is to continue, our stand is unchanged. However, after Saturday’s forum... the MTUC exco will hold a meeting to finalise its decision... whether or not to continue with the picket or otherwise.
Jaafar Majid, Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) vice president, on the union’s picket at Parliament next Monday against plan to revise labour laws when the Dewan Rakyat resumes its sitting

PM’s leaked affidavit
We have received instructions not to reveal the contents of the application until it is revealed in court. Until then we cannot reveal them. I do not know how some of the press received and reported the contents of the application and affidavit.
Salehuddin Saidin, counsel for Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor, on a leaked affidavit by them to set aside the subpoena in the Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy trial

Hudud

Respecting does not mean agreeing.. Respecting also does not mean objecting. Just like Islam cannot stop non-Muslims from practising and propagating their faiths, Muslims, too, cannot be stopped from implementing the hudud law.
Nasrudin Hasan Tantawi, PAS Youth chief
